SIMPSON — Despite the fact that the Pre-Health Society is holding a chili cook-off later this evening, the Weather has confirmed that it will not be changing itself to a more ideal, wintry, chili-eating setting.

“Look, summer is just around the corner.  I can feel it,” said the Atmosphere in the immediate vicinity of the Simpson Campus.  “I refuse to go back to that awful, bone-chilling subzero nonsense.  If they really want to eat chili in above-freezing conditions, I’m all for it.”

Before deciding to notch itself up a few degrees (to a toasty 60°), the Atmosphere added, “Besides, there’s never a wrong time or temperature for chili, no matter how smokin’ hot I happen to be.  And in this case, the chili is for a great cause. Heck, if I had an actual body, I wouldn’t mind having a bowl myself!”

The Pre-Health Society will be raising funds for thyroid cancer research and education at the chili cook-off.  Students are encouraged to donate or sponsor the event — or just come out to sample some delicious homemade batches of chili for just $5.

The event will be held from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in the Black Box Theatre.
