Simpson Student Leverages Family Feud Appearance to Land Reality TV Show

SIMPSON – Following an appearance on the Family Feud, Simpson student Tyler Smaha has successfully landed his own reality TV show.

Earlier in 2016, Tyler Smaha and his family had been on vacation in Kansas City where they stumbled upon family auditions for the Family Feud. Taking full advantage of this fortuitous circumstance, the Smahas successfully auditioned and were flown out to Atlanta in July for filming.

Needless to say, host Steve Harvey was impressed with the Smahas.

“I think it must be that Midwestern corn-fed diet,” said Harvey as he fudged numbers on the show’s latest survey. “These Smahas SHUT DOWN the competition. And that Tyler? That kid’s gotta future. He’s got the smile, the look, and the at-ti-tude of a TV star!”

Indeed, after his appearance on the Family Feud, executives with Fox approached Tyler about the possibility of making a reality TV show. For this normally quiet, well-mannered and all around decent human being, the idea was somewhat of a shock.

“I play soccer, student-teach, have an amazing girlfriend, I’ve got it all going for me,” said Smaha as he prepared his home for the invasion of camera crews. “I just hope all this attention doesn’t go straight to my head and then I make poor life choices like drinking heavily or transferring to Central…”

Possible names for the reality TV show are: “Mild Midwesterners,” “Corn-fed Comedy” and “What’s the Sitch with Smaha?”

You can catch Tyler’s television premiere on the Family Feud on Friday, Jan. 27, at 4:00. A viewing party will be held in the Black Box of the Simpson College Kent Center and will feature a free buffet of Pizza Hut delicacies.

The first season of Tyler’s reality TV show is scheduled to begin this July.
