WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Simpson College Madrigal Singers have been invited, at very short notice, to perform at Donald Trump’s presidential inauguration this Friday.

Members of the Madrigal Singers are “thrilled” and “excited” to be performing at such a historic event. They will be performing alongside the likes of (some of) the Radio City Rockettes, the Mormon Tabernacle Choir, and America’s Got Talent winner Jackie Evancho.

“I’m proud of this ensemble and the work they’ve put in. We’ll put together a performance Trump will never forget,” said Madrigal Singers’ Director Dr. Robert Larson as he waved away anxious-looking students. “I’m so glad Trump seems to have forgotten his vendetta against the college too…”

Dr. Larson isn’t the only person excited for the Madrigal Singers.

“We are going to have an unbelievable, dare I say, HUGE, turnout for the inauguration, and we’re going to have all the stars, no losers,” said Trump in an interview with the “failing” New York Times. “My performers represent the lovely American people. Besides, I made a great deal for the Madrigal Singers. I am the best negotiator.”

Song selections for the group will include such original hits as, “We Will, We Will Trump You”, “Somebody That… Used to be on The Apprentice”, ” We Shall OverComb”, and “Do You Wanna Build A… Wall?”.

When asked about the ensemble’s reaction to the news, carefully-selected sophomore Olivia Gardner gushed, “Everyone’s so excited! We have the chance to perform on national television! No matter who you supported in the election, this is the trip of a lifetime.”

The ensemble plans to depart Thursday at 11:30 PM from the Des Moines International Airport. The Madrigal Singers are currently slated to begin singing at 11 a.m. before Trump’s official swearing in at 11:30 a.m.
