The Professor’s New Groove. Simpson to Offer Course in Squirrel Speak

2015-04-15_11-18-27Simpson College is adding a new language course for the 2015-2016 academic year. If the course is successful, it will become a permanent addition to the school’s academic catalog. The course is meant to help open up language options for students.

A new professor will be coming in to teach this special course, Professor Kronk Pepikrankenitz, who will be traveling all the way from Peru to teach a class on squirrel language. Kronk graduated from “The Emperor’s New School” with a major in squirrel talk and a minor in culinary studies so he is more than qualified for this position.

Kronks primary childhood guardian, Yzma said “He has always had a way with squirrels,” and that he is “thrilled to have been chosen for this wonderful opportunity.”

Simpson has always had an abundance of squirrels on campus. Kelsey Walkup a sophomore says she is “excited to have a chance to finally be able to talk to the squirrels since they always run away scared.” Walkup and many other students have been seen chasing them around on campus in hopes of sparking a conversation.

President Simmons says that he hopes this “bridges the gap” and that it helps make campus more “comfortable for students and squirrels alike.”
